Christmas can be a magical time, even when there is a global COVID pandemic. Christmas in a chateau sounds like the most magical of all. Yes, I managed to wrangle another invitation to the chateau whilst the decorations were still up. I was able to see for myself whether the reality would live up to my imagination.
Again I was not disappointed. The light dusting of snow on the ground added to the picturesque scene as I drove up to the chateau. The cold outside contrasted well with the warm welcome I received as I entered the hall.
The proliferation of candles and soft lighting throughout the chateau created an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility. These coupled with the natural and traditional decorations gave a sense of welcoming opulence.
Even though the chateau is not yet open to welcome guests the subtle but effective decorations throughout gave me a taste of what is in store for them once it is fully operational.
Christmas magic is not just for the children, especially when its combined with a nice glass of red or Vin Chaud!
